Face of Caring – July 2022
You may think July is all about barbecues, but did you know July is National Culinary Arts Month, too? In fact, every year in July, the holiday celebrates professional cooks and chefs across the country. Cassia is blessed with exceptional chefs throughout our communities, and our goal is to feature them all. Today we’re introducing Regent at Burnsville Director of Culinary Services Ricco Mejia. He has been with us for eleven years.
“Ricco does a terrific job of offering variety in his menus,” says Regent at Burnsville Executive Director Vicki Tobroxen. “He has a six-week rotating menu and is interested in residents’ feedback on menu ideas. He is responsive to resident concerns when voiced, taking the time to meet with them personally. He also does a terrific job of supporting and developing his servers and cooks.”
After trying a new dish of shrimp po’boy and sweet potato fries, resident Bonnie Larson was an enthusiastic fan. “It’s delicious and has a terrific taste,” she exclaimed. “I appreciate the nice variety and hope this dish will stay on the menu!” Bonnie’s praise is echoed throughout the community.
Thank you, Chef Ricco, for your dedication to creating delicious food—and an extraordinary dining experience.
